general appearance, at five foot seven, amber isn't the shortest girl around, but she isn't necessarily the tallest, either. all of her life, she's always been very active - whether it's the fact that her parents enrolled her in a soccer league in her elementary years (which she hated, by the way) or from all the dancing she did in middle school. so she's never been one to sit around and do nothing all day, making her have a very lean, toned body. even though dance is a very vigorous sport, to make sure she didn't gain the freshman fifteen in her freshman year of school, she joined a gym and still has the membership there. when she goes, she works out pretty vigorously and has the slightest bit of muscle on her legs, and of course, very strong legs.
amber elizabeth dyed her hair for the first time when she was eleven years old. she was over at her friend maggie's house and they were walking to target to buy 'titanic' and watch it at their sleepover that night when they first saw the bottle of hair dye. amber's hair was a dirty blonde color, a little lighter than her older brother skylar's hair. maggie turned to amber and asked if she wanted to dye her hair. of course amber said yes - what an adventure! so they purchased the bottle of bleach and after maggie's parents left for dinner that night, they set to work. so by the time that amber's parents came to pick her up the next morning, she had bleach blonde hair. amber's been dying her hair ever since - but after she got into college, she prefers the ashy red color she has right now.
make up wise, amber's never been into the really heavy, heavy make up. when she was younger, she did enjoy experimenting with make up, but she was never allowed out of the house with so much as a few lines of eyeliner before she was thirteen. i guess that her parents figured that they were fine with this whole hair dye business, but not yet with all of the make up and stuff. now that she's older, she's been through all of the phases of heavy eyeliner to no make up at all. now she's at a happy medium where she can use her make up to apply a fresh new look.

overall personality, Paranoid. Amber gives this word a whole new meaning. When she was younger, she was always the most paranoid one out of her whole family about basically...everything. Some things were good to be paranoid about. Her grades, for instance. Amber was raised to believe that if you didn't get good grades, you were basically nothing. Which is why from the time she was in what, 2nd grade? She had her nose to the grind stone about school work. Other things, such as what people thought about her, caused great problems for Amber, about her self-consciousness and about how she felt about herself.
Amber's been pretty shaky and afraid of everything since she was a small child. One of her first memories is taking a trip to Disney World when she was 5-years-old. Her older brothers, her older sister and her younger sister all went on every single ride they saw. Splash mountain. Space mountain. Big thunder mountain rail road. But, Amber was too afraid. She remembered the questions she asked her mother. "What if it collapses?" or "What if I fall out?" So instead of answering every asinine question that she had about a Disney World ride, her mother just stood with her outside of every ride.
Amber can also be pretty quiet. When she was a child, and even now as a young adult, she pretty much keeps to herself. She rarely opens up to people, since she's afraid of getting hurt. She isn't like this just because, there's a reason. Which you'll find out once you read her history. But, this can also be good because, if you tell Amber a secret, you'll know the secret's safe with her.
Which brings us to another element of Amber's personality. Loyal. If Amber opens up to you, and you become her friend, she will be your friend for life. Of course, if you back stab her or talk about her behind her back, you can just say "buh-bye" right now. Delilah is probably one of the most loyal people you will ever meet. Partly, the reason is because of the family she grew up in, which had a huge since of loyalty.
Delilah's not a big party lover. She'd be happy laying down on the couch at home with a sweat-suit on, a bowl of popcorn and her dogs by her side and a DVD playing. Of course, that doesn't mean that once you get a little whiskey into Delilah, that she isn't completely out of control. Although, the one time that Delilah was drunk, she had almost gone home with a complete stranger. Thank god for Delilah's friends who had pulled the drunken girl away from him.
Social butterfly is one label that does not describe Amber, but she does have quite a few friends and people that she's opened up to. But, let's end this here. On one final note, if you see Amber around and she doesn't warm up to you at first, don't worry. Just give it some time. She really is one worth while girl. Once you get to know her, of course.
*my life story,
hometown, long island, new york
current town, los angeles, california
parents, steven reynolds, father, architect, 46.
amanda reynolds, mother, local newspaper editor, 47.
siblings, skylar reynolds, brother, student, 23.
other relatives, none that she's close to.
history, steven and amanda were sixteen years old when they got married. well, he was sixteen, she was seventeen. it astounded their entire town of scarsdale, new york that two teenagers that were barely old enough to operate a car were making a life long commitment to each other. somehow though, steven and amanda, who are known to most of their friends as steve and mandy, fell in love, and that's the way that their love stayed. after they graduated high school, they both enrolled at new york university and excelled there. they waited to have children, though, but their first child and they were in their early twenties when they had their first child. skylar ashton reynolds was welcomed into the world right around the time that his parents finished up their years of college. they moved into an apartment in the city after steve got a job at a very successful architectural job in the city's surroundings. it was only two years before mandy fell pregnant again, and this time with a baby girl.
it was the day after new years eve, 1987 to be exact. while her husband nursed a hang over in their bed and her two year old son skylar peacefully slept in from his late night of staying up till half past midnight, it was in the kitchen of their apartment in new york city that amanda reynolds' water broke. she was rushed to the hospital by her husband, and after their baby girl had been delivered, she was named amber elizabeth reynolds. with the addition to their family, the apartment got more and more crowded, so they moved away from the city and into a comfortable home in a suburb of long island, new york. as a small child, amber had a great family life. her father made lots of money, and her mother began writing her own novel, but later turned to editing when she started elementary school.
in elementary school, amber was little miss popular. unlike her older brother who was more quiet and reserved, amber was outgoing and extroverted and loved to have fun. she had a wild imagination from day one, and enjoyed rounding up the neighborhood kids and her classmates at recess to orchestrate multiple different games of make believe. middle school was a major shocker for amber, as she fell from little miss popular to one of the girls that were totally effected by middle school. it was in between the drama that she discovered her two true passions - dance and photography. her parents enrolled her in a ballet class in sixth grade, but by the end of eighth grade she was dancing more than several different types of dancing. photography was always something she loved to indulge in, as well.
if she had thought that middle school was going to be bad, she was definitely not prepared for what high school was going to bring her. as freshman year rolled around, amber lost a lot of friends after she had broken away from the group that refused to live a clean lifestyle. after watching her father go through an alcohol addiction for most of her life, amber had never had much interest in alcohol. the heavy partying ways of the students that attended the private high school that amber did were not people that she liked to spend time with. between freshman and sophomore year, she didn't speak much to people. she kept to herself, and indulged in dance and photography. by the end of freshman year, she had several different photos posted in numerous different magazines and newspapers, and she was dancing on a competition dance team.
junior year was different, though. amber met a boy, and he wasn't just any guy, amber thought that he had to be the guy. his name was maxwell christopher jenkins, but max to most people. max was one of those guys that she had gone to school with all of her life, but in their junior year in the first quarter of the first semester, they were paired up in their advanced language arts class to write a paper on "romeo & juliet." they fell in love, or whatever version of love high schoolers can feel towards each other. like most high school relationships, one thing led to another and a physical relationship was formed. amber never went on the pill though, and they were so caught up in the heat of the moment that neither of them considered a thing like protection.
it was in the beginning of their senior year that amber learned she was pregnant. she panicked, and got it aborted, fearing that her family and her friends would be so incredibly affected of the baby. she had to stop the pregnancy. it turns out that one of the employees at the clinic was the mother of one of max's friends, and word got out of school. it was so hard for her to look at herself, let alone drag her ass out of bed and go to school. finally, the school year ended, and amber needed to get away to forget everything and to start fresh. los angeles seemed like a good place to do that.

being pregnant was living hell. it was like being on your period, but the emotions and the side effects were multiplied by ten thousand. first of all, getting dressed in the morning was about as challenging as the triathlon. her stomach barely fit in any of the things that she had anymore, and the little bit of money she had to spend at the moment she had splurged and bought some baggy maternity clothes to hide her rapidly growing stomach. if anyone found out - it could be fatal for the both of them. nobody was down with having a baby on a rock tour, let alone a pregnant rock star. she could imagine the label right now, telling her that her being pregnant would just kill the vibe. she knew what they would mean, though. her pregnancy was going to kill the fantasy of their male fans of her doing something a little extra than drumming with her drum sticks on stage. nobody wants to see a pregnant girl do anything like that, unless you have one of those weird fetishes. or said pregnant girl is your girlfriend.
it was four am that morning when the barfing began. this could get a little graphic, so you might want to stop reading this if you have a queasy stomach like that little girl i babysat for today. twelve fucking dollars! anyway, moving on. the rest of the girls were still on the bus, and it had been good that the bus was parked for the day. that way they didn't have to be cramped up on the bus. she had woken up and felt absolutely sick to her stomach, she had had another nightmare the night before. her bulbous stomach was sticking out through the black tanktop she had on. her black hair had been stuck to the back of her sweaty neck, and she had awoken from the nightmare. she had barely made it to the bathroom before she was heaving. she was crying and crying from that point on, until at least nine in the morning. the tour manager had even stopped by to make sure she wasn't having a seizure or something.
her stomach was getting harder and harder to hide, and the whole morning she had spent the day tucked away in her bed, sobbing over lifetime movies and a bowl of ice cream. she didn't know what was wrong with her - first of all, the hormones were driving her up the wall insane. second of all, she was afraid. it was different than the kind of fright that you got from watching a scary movie. you might be terrified after watching 'the grudge' or something, but at least at some point you could wake up from that nightmare and you'd be fine. you could go on with your life. what she and kane were going through, it terrified of her. her hands were shaking as she finished up her crying, feeling the fetus' feet kicking at her stomach. it was uncomfortable, but nothing that she couldn't relieve by getting up to walk around.
she was sure that she probably needed a shower at this point, so after relieving some of the stress (and sweat) away from a shower, she dressed in a pair of jeans, a baggy "breakfast club" t-shirt and one of the huge american apparel hoodies she had purchased. she probably was a little suspicious walking in there and buying the biggest size they had, but her bandmates had written it off as another one of her cooky fashion statements. by the time that was he was done dressing she checked her phone and saw that she had a text message from jane. she gulped, seeing that he wanted to meet her backstage. the hotel wasn't too far away from the site of the shows, but she wasn't ready to walk the distance. so she grabbed her backstage pass and took a cab.
by the time she had waddled through, securing a pair of sunglasses on her face, she was backstage. it was sometimes eerie to be backstage alone. the security guards liked to hide and jump out at the unsuspecting fans who thought it was 'so cool' that they had snuck past security when really they were there the whole time. tapping her fingers on the rails, she found kane backstage. she dropped her bag on the ground, walking over to him and wrapping her arms around him. "hi baby bear." she kissed him on the top of his head and hugged him tighter. i mean, as tight as she could. stomach was in the way. "ug. baby says hi too." she looked down at her stomach as the baby kicked away happily. she shed her sweatshirt off, taking his hand and sticking it up her shirt and placing it on her stomach.
